Enerliance Is Going to Haystack Connect

Wednesday, April 24, 2013

April 29th through May 2nd, we’ll be attending and speaking at the Haystack Connect Conference in Chattanooga Tennessee. Haystack Connect, named after Project Haystack, brings together system integrators, technology suppliers and customers interested in more efficient and sustainable buildings. The conference promises to offer the opportunity for these communities to network, share, learn and create new business.

Without getting into too many technical details, Project Haystack is an open source project that makes it easier for building equipment from multiple vendors to talk to each other.  Since better communication allows for more control and optimization, it’s a project we’re definitely excited about.

Congratulations to our DistribuTech iPad Winner

Thursday, April 18, 2013

A few months ago we had the opportunity to go to DistribuTech in San Diego. The event hosted more than 9,500 attendees from 53 countries, and is the largest U.S. conference that covers the smart grid from end-to-end.

We set up a booth to introduce LOBOS to attendees within the utility grid infrastructure and demand response fields. It was a great opportunity for us to showcase LOBOS to interested parties.

Enerliance Has Moved!

Wednesday, February 27, 2013

With over 16 million square feet of LOBOS controlled buildings completed in 2012 and another 34 million square feet scheduled for 2013, Enerliance has been growing quickly. So it will come as no surprise that we outgrew our old company headquarters in Anaheim.

As a result we’ve moved our new company headquarters to Irvine, just south of the Irvine Spectrum near the 405/5 interchange.

LOBOS potential to be revealed at DistribuTECH

Thursday, January 24, 2013

Join us at the DistribuTECH Conference and Exhibition in San Diego Jan. 29 to 31 where we will be releasing the results of a new study showing the dramatic potential of LOBOS to reduce energy consumption across the country.

We hired Green Per Square Foot of Chicago,Ill., last year to estimate the number and size of commercial buildings nationwide that could benefit from LOBOS technology.  The study identified 33 billion square feet of commercial building space that fit our criteria.

LOBOS: A Solution For Both Supporters & Critics of FERC Order 745

Thursday, December 6, 2012

If you don’t spend your evenings reading energy-industry trade journals, “FERC 745″ is probably gibberish to you.  So let us try and explain.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission – FERC – is the government institution that creates rules about how power is distributed across the country.   In March of 2012 they issued order 745, a new rule that changes how large energy producers have to treat demand response energy savings.

Enerliance & Trane Collaborate In Defense Department Competition

Friday, November 16, 2012

Right now, two proposals we’ve put together in partnership with Trane and Dahtzen Chu — an engineer from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (CERL) — are in the final round of the Department of Defense’s Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP).

Scot presented both proposals to the Department of Defense in Washington, D.C., in September, and the winners are expected to be announced in January of 2013.

Beyond Optimization

Thursday, November 8, 2012

There are a number of Retro-Commissioning (RCx) and Chiller Plant Optimization products on the market; all of them presenting different claims that seem to lead to more questions than answers. Enerliance understands the confusion, and we want to offer some clarity. (more…)

EPRI & NREL Interested In LOBOS

Thursday, November 1, 2012

Recently, Enerliance had the opportunity to participate in the Emerging Technologies Summit 2012 in Pasadena. After a very successful conference, we’re excited that a few prominent organizations are interested in working with our technology.

Both the Electrical Power Research Institute (EPRI), and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) expressed enthusiasm about working with Enerliance to validate LOBOS for use in data centers, a rapidly growing facility demographic that are enormous consumers of electricity.

Scot Interviewed About LOBOS on

Thursday, October 25, 2012

In a recent issue of, Ken Sinclair, the online magazine’s publisher interviewed Enerliance CEO Scot Duncan. If you aren’t familiar with, it is an online magazine and that  provides news and connections to ”…the community of change agents creating our present definition of intelligent, integrated, connected, green, and converged large buildings”. Sinclair’s publication provides a searchable platform for discussion and exchange while creating opportunities for B2Bs and existing stakeholders.

During the interview Duncan was able to explain the value of LOBOS for Sinclair and his readers. He discussed the history of LOBOS, the challenges he’s overcome and future endeavors he hopes LOBOS can be present at. Duncan also had the chance to share his personal goals for both himself and Enterliance. He closed the interview by discussing his excitement about working with new buildings and their owners; “It’s an honor to be trusted with the heart of their building, and to have the chance to make it better.”
